Along with the ability to carry out all duties detailed in the job description, applicants must have:

• Minimum of Fully Completed FETAC/QQI level 5 qualification

• Full clean Driving License

Applicants should:

• Have previous experience of working in Day Services and of New Directions guidelines

• Previous experience working within the Intellectual Disability area and of working with people

who have a diagnosis of Autism or and Behaviours of Concern

• Be person centred in their approach, empowering people who use the services to maximise their independence

and develop meaningful social roles

• An understanding & commitment to demonstrate the importance of supporting Individuals in their local areas doing

ordinary things ordinary tasks as set out in their Person centred plans & in line with New Directions.

• Flexible, responsive & creative approach to the role ensuring equity of opportunity & experience for Individuals

being supported in work, education, social & leisure activities at times accessed by the whole community.

• Candidates may be required to work flexible hours to support individuals pursue activities on occasion

• The ability to effectively manage their time; work on their own initiative and as part of a team.

• Commitment to promoting the active engagement and participation of people who use the services in their

local communities
