Responsibilities:
Carries out all activities required to maintain organization in department, including filing, data entry, facilitating communication among the staff and data gathering and verification. Coordinates admissions to clinic and IOP if applicable.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Schedules patients, contacts patients as required for rescheduling, etc for clinic and IOP admissions.
  • Able to answer phones and greet customers in a customer-friendly manner, answer questions and transfer calls appropriately
  • Ensures appropriate forms are obtained when patient arrives
  • Responsible for accurate and timely filing of medical records and transmission of medical records upon request in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Retrieves transcriptions, recorded messages, consults and recommendations and places into patient’s medical record. Responsible for analyzing charts, chart/documentation tracking and file maintenance, and processing Releases Of Information (ROI’s).
  • Acts as a liaison between the patient and third-party payers to promote appropriate treatment for psychiatric illness, as appropriate.
  • Responsible to assess, plan and refer to the psychosocial services for patients. The employee must have knowledge and understanding of psychosocial practices and principles applicable to the specialty area.
  • Communicate with patients and families to keep them involved in treatment plan decisions
  • Oriented and educated in gender, cultural differences and age appropriate care for the assigned department.
  • Acts as a liaison with PrairieCare Marketing team and represents PrairieCare and Programs in a professional manner.
  • Administrative support for specialty clinic (i.e., data collection, managing provider schedules,).
  • Performs various other duties as assigned or as requested.
Qualifications:
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or a closely related human services field
  • Two years of supervised experience in behavioral healthcare is required, meeting the criteria for a mental health practitioner.
  • Must have computer skills using Microsoft Office Products including Word, Outlook and Teams. Must have reliable transportation and telephone.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Record Systems.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of psychosocial practices and principles
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • The individual must have the ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
  • Skills to communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and in writing
  • Ability react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations; make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances; and after training, be able to manage disruptive and explosive patients.
  • Additional training and skills in specialty area, (i.e., TMS Certification, Perinatal Certification)
  • BLS Certified (Adult & Child)
  • Specialty Certification as Assigned
