Carpet Cleaning Crew Worker
Custodial – 555 S Lewis
2nd Shift Evening (plus $.35/hr shift pay)

Base Rate:
$16.91
Performance Pay:
Available annually
New hire experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a five-year maximum
New hire education:
1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position

A13, 12 months

OVERVIEW
To ensure the successful and timely completion of carpet cleaning tasks; and to maintain an attractive, sanitary and safe environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School education or equivalent preferred
- Valid, or must obtain within six (6) months, Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certificate (IICRC)
- Must have and maintain valid Arizona driver’s license in order to operate district vehicles
- Minimum one year custodial experience; satisfactory work history; experience in gym floor refinishing helpful
- Knowledge of custodial equipment, supplies and proper cleaning procedures for various carpet maintenance
- Experience in proper carpet cleaning procedures, chemicals and equipment
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor, to bend, to stoop and to lift and/or move 50 pounds
- Ability to operate truck mount carpet extractor, ride-on carpet extractor and high-lift machine up to 25’
- Ability to safely operate various heavy duty carpet cleaning equipment
- Ability to perform work assignments in accordance with verbal and/or written instructions; to effectively communicate (verbal and written)
- Ability to establish and to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers, coworkers and supervisors
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Spot and clean carpets using appropriate methods, equipment and chemicals
- Respond to emergency calls
- Act as lead for summer carpet crew teams when needed
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
- Regular and on-time attendance required
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Act as custodial substitute or assist custodial staff for special projects
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
SUPERVISION
Carpet Cleaning Crew Lead
Prior to employment or during the first 3 months of new hire probationary period, drug and alcohol testing shall be required of all new contract employees who work in Transportation. Any applicants having a confirmed positive test shall not be eligible for employment.
