Responsible for providing bus service around the University of Oklahoma, city of Norman and possible trips to OKC. Performs tasks requiring good organizational skills. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education: High School diploma or GED, AND:

• 12 months experience driving heavy vehicles, performing delivery services, or closely related service.

Skills:

• Good customer service skills with sensitivity to customer needs
• Excellent driving record
• Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instruction
• Performs simple recordkeeping operations
• Basic computer and math skills
• Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information

Certifications:

• Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire date.
• Class B Commercial Driver's License or Class B Commercial Driver's License Permit with ability to acquire completed license, air brakes and passenger endorsement in 30 days of hire. Not required for small van/shuttle drivers.

Advertised Physical Requirements:

• Good physical condition. Ability to lift 40 lbs. Ability to climb, crouch, bend, or stoop. Ability to push or pull. Ability to sit for extended periods of time & drive with limited rest breaks. Regular exposure to disagreeable conditions. Exposure to extreme temperature changes, odors and loud noises.
• May wear and maintain uniforms and work shift work.

Departmental Preferences:

• Previous experience driving for public transportation.

Supervision: CART Lead Driver, up to 15 CART drivers.
