Role Profile:

To assist with the preparation of meals and snacks for the residents within the guidelines laid down by the Environmental Health Service (EHS) and Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA).

To maintain the overall cleanliness of the Care Centre and Nursing Home by promoting, through high standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness, an environment conducive to the care and nursing of the elderly.

Qualifications:

• Food Safety Training Level 1
• Previous training in the following areas: Manual Handling, Infection Control
• Previous experience of working in a professional kitchen and/or as a a hygiene specialist.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness as directed by the Housekeeping Manager / Head Chef and Mount Tabor policies.
• The role will include vacuuming/cleaning/polishing and all the activities associated with hygiene in a health care facility.
• Washing up of all items used in the kitchen area and maintaining cooking and storage areas in a clean and tidy state in line with cleaning schedules.
• Carry out any general dining room duties i.e. laying / cleaning tables etc.
• Transporting meals to other eating locations as required.
• Simple preparation of food as required by the Chef.
• Work as part of a team by ensuring there is good communication with the Housekeeping Manager / Head Chef and other members of the team.
