The Chaplin Support and Development Coordinator position fulfills the mission of the RRT through four primary Chaplain Support and Development responsibilities: training, support, and development; information management; onboarding chaplains; and church relations.

In response to major disasters, there are over 2,500 RRT crisis-trained chaplains in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia who stand ready to deploy to communities devastated by storms, shootings, floods and other tragedies, to offer emotional and spiritual care for survivors. These chaplains are trained to appropriately demonstrate the compassion and hope of Jesus Christ, who “heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3, ESV). RRT seeks to serve area churches by assisting them in building a biblically based follow-up process for new believers, many of which make a personal commitment to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior in the midst of their grief and loss. The RRT National Law Enforcement Ministry exists to offer support to men and women facing the emotional and spiritual challenges unique to law enforcement officers and their families.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is a nonprofit organization that directs a range of domestic and international ministries. From its headquarters in Charlotte, N.C., the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association directs a wide range of domestic and international ministries, including: large-scale festivals led by evangelists Franklin Graham and Will Graham; The Billy Graham Library; The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove, Blue Ridge Broadcasting which houses The Light FM located outside of Asheville, N.C.; SearchforJesus.net, an Internet evangelism project reaching thousands of people for Christ online; and many others through print, television, telephone, radio and the Internet.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide Training, Support, and Development to include curating live and digital platform content and material for production and presentation to support the Sharing Hope in Crisis/God’s Hope in Crisis platforms.
  • Coordinate scheduling Follow-Up and Training with churches within the RRT database to include content updates, inventory, and distribution.
  • Coordinate RRT Chaplain and volunteer training, support, and development to include coordination of SOP manuals and orientation for Volunteer Chaplains and Coordinators.
• Oversee Information and communication management for RRT through text and platforms such as IServe and Tableau.
  • IServe and Tableau are primary administrative resources for RRT helping to manage Chaplain Volunteer evaluations, facilitate Customer Service, Managing tickets for updates and changes and acting as a departmental liaison and resource to support the use of these platforms with staff.
• Coordinate Onboarding Chaplains
  • Coordinate the onboarding of Chaplain Coordinators and Chaplain Volunteers to include selection, training, and scheduling of personnel needs.
  • Responsible for facilitating Customer Service and managing job Tickets for update and changes.
• Coordinate RRT Church Relations
  • Work with Samaritans’ Purse and RRT staff in design and development
  • Handle scheduling with churches
  • Coordinate content updates, inventory, and distribution

Job Specifications

• Create procedures and ensure that appropriate processes are utilized to produce materials for Training, Support, and Development for RRT
• Ensure accurate reporting, maintenance, and distribution of RRT Training, Support, and Development materials and processes take place
• Represent RRT in meetings regarding RRT data and RRT interface with Studio Enterprise through IServe and Tableau systems
• Provide customer service and create job tickets for RRT training and SHIC online technical issues
• Coordinate the personnel and schedules necessary for the application and onboarding process of new RRT Volunteer Chaplains
• Coordinate the data management for RRT IServe and other resources for the onboarding of new RRT Volunteer Chaplains
• Coordinate the documentation and presentation of the design and development process for church relations ministry
• Coordinate the scheduling and potential travel of the design and development process for church relations ministry with RRT staff, SP staff, and local church staff

Skills and Knowledge

• Bachelor-level degree, preferably in Christian education, information management or minimum of (5) years’ experience in training and curriculum development within Christian education, or a ministry-related field
• Experienced in both in-person instruction and on-line technology
• Significant experience in project coordination required
• Experience in nonprofit/Christian organization preferred
• Excellent communication, listening, organizational, writing, and work prioritization skills
• Excellent initiative, with ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to simultaneously engage multiple projects with strong work ethic
