We are currently recruiting an experienced CHEF for the McGettigan Bar Galway to begin as soon as possible.
Our mission is to produce exciting and authentic traditional food using only the finest seasonal and traceable ingredients to present menus that are perfectly executed and served by our dedicated kitchen team.
REPORTING TO: Head Chef
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Ensuring that food preparation, food production and food service is carried out to the highest standards and in accordance with the food hygiene HACCP regulations
MAIN DUTIES:
- To arrive promptly on duty as scheduled in a full, clean & presentable uniform at all times in accordance with company grooming policy.
- Maintain the highest level of personal and work cleanliness and hygiene and throughout all duties comply with HACCP requirements.
- To ensure that agreed standard of uniform and personal hygiene is carried out in the kitchen at all times by all kitchen team members and that as appropriate PPE as supplied by the company is worn.
- To ensure staff are trained to the agreed standard, both statutory training and company training. Records of all training participated by team members must be maintained and recorded, copies of which forward to Human resources.
- Prepare & compile menus for daily business, functions etc, ensuring GP's and company brand standards are met.
- To comply with company legislation regarding Fire, Health and Safety, Hygiene, Food Hygiene, Customer Care and Security.
- To monitor all dishes prepared from the kitchen and ensure they conform to the agreed standard prior to food service.
- Driving sales and maintaining a high level of standards throughout the Kitchen including all aspects of Food preparations, Storage, delivery intake procedures.
- Be responsible for the everyday management of a faced paced Kitchen team from Audits, HACCP.
- Carry out all Health & Safety, HACCP, and any other requirements that need to be adhered to.
- Achieving targets with staff and management in order to achieve optimum food waste while ensuring that operational costs are kept as low as possible.
- Ensuring that the required staffing levels of the Kitchen are always met and to maintain operating standards.
- To comply with company regulations regarding, fire, health and safety, hygiene, customer care and security.
- To read, understand and carry out your responsibilities as defined in the Health and Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
- Report any maintenance issues immediately to management.
- All staff of the company are required to make themselves available for training and communication meetings for which advance notice will normally be given.
