Job description
BDO Ireland is seeking to appoint a Chief Compliance Officer with experience in developing and scaling best-in-class compliance frameworks.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who can set a vision for the next level of compliance across the firm and help us to deliver it. They will look forward to the variety that Professional Services offers and be skilled in managing multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a key member of the management team, you will report into the Quality and Risk Committee, with a dotted line to the Managing Partner
  • Develop and implement a compliance programme that addresses the firm’s regulatory requirements and achieves leading practice
  • Proactively engage with client-facing departments and support functions across the business
  • Build a compliance function that reflects our firm’s culture of being pro-business, while taking our regulatory and compliance requirements very seriously
  • Refine and manage the compliance monitoring framework
  • Assist in the execution and ongoing improvement of all operational aspects of the compliance programme
  • Meet regularly with the partners across the firm
  • Drive continuous improvement of the governance framework

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Ideally 8+ years in senior compliance and/or regulatory roles
  • Business degree / ACOI qualification or equivalent
  • Expertise in codes of conduct, anti-fraud, protected disclosure, AML, anti-bribery, GDPR, conflicts of interest, etc.
  • Experience in professional services preferred
  • Strong communications and presentation skills
  • Experience in dealing with regulators
