Avista is a person-centred, rights-based organisation that is dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Funded by the HSE, as a section 38 organisation, they currently provide services to over 3,500 people in Limerick, North Tipperary, and Dublin, supported by 2,365 staff.
Chief Executive Officer
The Role
Avista CLG wishes to appoint a Chief Executive Offi cer to lead the organisation, continuing its strong legacy and developing the service over the next number of years.
Avista works together with the people they support to live their best lives through the delivery of quality services while promoting their roles as active citizens in an inclusive society. Reporting to a voluntary Board of Directors and Chair the role will encompass the following elements:
- Lead the strategic development of the organisation in line with its mission, vision, and values
- Manage key stakeholder relationships such as the HSE, HIQA, the National Federation of Voluntary Bodies, and various national
- Manage all matters of service provision
- Ensure appropriate standards are set and practiced across the organisation
- Guide, support and oversee the performance of the executive team
The Person
The ideal candidate will have significant experience at a senior management level in a health/social care-related service sector, with responsibility for service provision, staff and operational budgets of a significant size. They should possess excellent interpersonal skills, energy and a sense of vision, as well as the ability to implement organisational change. A track record of leading innovation and service improvement initiatives within a diverse organisation would be an advantage. Overall, an alignment with the values of Avista and a strong sense of advocacy for the rights of individuals with an intellectual disability is essential.
This is a renewable, 7-year fixed term contract. The salary and benefits are in line with HSE consolidated payscales. The position is Dublin based, with regular travel to North Tipperary & Limerick.
