Chief Operating Officer
Job description
Our Organization
Make It Home provides Bay Area families and individuals transitioning out of crisis with beautiful, gently-used furniture and household goods that transform empty spaces into homes. By collecting, recycling, repurposing and curating these furnishings, Make It Home is ending furniture poverty while protecting our environment.
Our Culture and Vibe
A recent nonprofit start-up with a meteoric trajectory, in less than two years, Make It Home has furnished more than 700 homes, serving more than 1,600 people, including 700 children. We are proud that our work has diverted 774 tons away from the landfill, while supporting our community members in need. How do we do it? We are nimble, scrappy, upbeat and creative. We take pride in having a discerning eye for the great stuff (donation days feel like Christmas morning!) and are judicious with our time and assets. It all comes together because of our small, dynamic team who bring excellence and passion to the work every day, and with the incredible support of our dedicated, energetic and community-minded volunteers. Anyone who works with us will tell you that we are giving and caring, dedicated, and that our vibe is joy.
