Child Care Worker, Robert J. McMahon Children's Center

SCO Family of Services is currently seeking Child Care Workers to join our team in at our Robert J. McMahon Children's Center, Residential Treatment Center in Sea Cliff, NY. The Robert J. McMahon Children’s Center (RJMCC) serves children and adolescents with developmental disabilities. RJMCC includes a Residential Treatment Center, which provides 24-hour nursing care, social services and a variety of therapies that help them unlock their potential and achieve as much independence as their abilities allow. Residents of RJMCC attend the Tyree Learning Center, a New York State certified special education school designed to accommodate the children’s needs.

As a Child Care Worker, you will:

• Provide a safe, clean and caring living environment for children and adolescents with disabilities.

• Prepare meals according to weekly meal planner.

• Participate in activity programming including individual and group activities, sports, games, trips, enrichment activities, etc.

• Enforce the program’s daily routine by accurately completing reports, checklists & daily point sheets.

• Attention to and support of medical issues, student educational/vocational needs, case work, and clinical appoints.

• Appropriately confront negative behavior whenever it occurs.

• Maintain professional, positive and encouraging relationships with all individuals in care, family members, and agency staff.

Ideal Candidates must possess:

High School Diploma Clean and Valid driver’s license. Experience working with children or adolescents (preferred). A strong belief in others ability to grow and change
