The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Department of Human Genetics is looking for a candidate to perform the duties of a Study Coordinator within the scope of the Women’s Cancer Family History Cohort Project. The UCLA Women’s Cancer Family History Cohort (UCLA WCFHC) cohort is a large study aimed at understanding the genetic, environmental, socioeconomic, and other determinants of risk of a cancer diagnosis in women with a family history of the disease, with a focus on underrepresented minorities. UCLA WCFHC research projects will range from early-detection and prevention, treatment of incident cancer to health services and healthcare economics research.
In this role you will collaborate with the Principal Investigator, Sub-Investigators, research personnel and hospital staff to serve as Study Coordinator for research studies by assuring compliance with all aspects of individual studies. You will be responsible for ensuring that protocol procedures have been completed accurately and safely, in addition to overseeing patient recruitment and enrollment efforts, data collection, source documentation, and quality assurance of the clinical studies conducted.
Salary range: $24.28-$48.04 Hourly
- Demonstrated clinical research experience, with basic knowledge of subject matter, including working knowledge of good clinical practices for clinical research
- Ability to work efficiently and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to handle multiple clinical research projects for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, including handling work delegated by more than one individual.
- Experience in performing patient enrollment, eligibility evaluations and interventions under the direction of the Principal Investigator with diverse patients using strong experience and skills, as assigned.
- Analytical skills to analyze information, practices, and procedures formulate logical and objective conclusions and make recommendations for effective solutions
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) – skill in speaking clearly, distinctly, and using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain and convey information. Required only for specific positions.
- Under minimal supervision, ability to prioritize workflow to meet deadlines, often under pressure of conflicting demands, while maintaining accuracy and effectiveness of work.
- Skill in preparation of accurate and timely annual reports and statistical information on all protocols, as needed.
- Minimum of one year experience in area of clinical research.
- Experience with maintaining case report forms and proper reports based on study guidelines.

- Bachelor’s degree – Strongly Preferred
- Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with the general public, and culturally diverse patient populations, co-workers, professional staff, and faculty in an appropriate manner
