SNA is looking for a Clinical Sciences and Medical Product Development for Burns and Trauma Care Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority program with high level Advanced Scientific professional subject matter expertise and doctoral level and / or highly-advanced relevant industry experience and extensive knowledge in various areas of interest as it relates to Research and Development and Applied Research and Development of biotechnology and biopharmaceuticals with an advanced understanding of the licensures/approval of products through the Food and Drug Administration.

Critical Work Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide subject matter expertise in burn wound care, imaging, tissue engineering/regenerative medicine, and preclinical models of disease for testing therapeutic products, in particular burn and wound healing models, inhalation injuries, and blast trauma.
• Support government client Program Office(s) as a subject matter expert in the fields of Chemical Threats, Radiological/Nuclear Threats, Burn and Blast Injuries, or Biological Threats (including viral and bacterial threats) as well as the research, development, manufacture, and regulatory approval/ licensure/ clearance of medical countermeasures against these threats including but not limited to diagnostics, preventives, and therapeutics.
• Provide guidance and recommendations on key issues related to Chemical Threats, Radiological/Nuclear Threats, Burn and Blast Injuries, or Biological Threats in the areas of preclinical development, advanced clinical development, quality control, clinical and/or regulatory policy, and/or manufacturing.
• Review study protocols, study reports, regulatory documents, presentations, proposals, and related documents.
• Provide senior-level briefing(s) to government leadership as required.
• Prepare regular reports to government management on various technical issues identified as required.
• Provide recommendations for project development level portfolio Specific background and experience for SMEs as required.
• Provide management and oversight as required.
• Develop, implement, and consciously improve Total Life Cycle Cost (TLCC) efforts.
• Participate in Market Research efforts.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

• Doctoral degree in relevant fields such as clinical sciences, biochemistry, life or biomedical sciences, or biomedical engineering.
• 15+ years of clinical practice, surgical and/or pharmaceutical industrial experience, and extensive training in the relevant field.
• Subject Matter Expert in the field of clinical sciences and medical product development, with preference to work in products relevant to one or more fields such as chronic wounds, burn care, trauma, internal medicine via their work on aspects like imaging or biologics or drugs, and/or combination products.
