Position Title: Club Administrator,
Location: Cill Dara Golf Club
Reporting to: The Honorary Secretary and the Club Captain.
Contract: Part-time
Overview:
Cill Dara Golf Club is situated on the edge of the Curragh Plain, perhaps the oldest and most extensive tract of semi-natural grassland in Europe. An area of international significance with a wealth of history and archaeological features and home of the thoroughbred racehorse. The Curragh plain was declared a national monument in 1996. Thus, the golf course is uniquely located, with greens of superb texture and great character matched only by the delicate fabric of the fairways. A “lush sward in summer” and a “windy tundra in winter”. The golf club was founded in 1920 and became affiliated to the GUI the following year. In 1922 the club purchased an army hut for seventy pounds as their new pavilion. By 1933 further renovations to the clubhouse had taken place and by the club had celebrated its silver jubilee, Cill Dara had become very popular with leading amateur and professional golfers. JB Carr, an honorary member, played many times and won the unique Golden Ball competition. In 1986 the present clubhouse was constructed. The project was completed on schedule, funded entirely by Club members. This modern, comfortable clubhouse with all facilities and its restaurant under Seventh Catering has acquired a reputation for providing excellent, reasonably priced meals in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
This is an office based role. The successful candidate will work a minimum of 20 hours a week, over a 5 day period, which will include one weekend day per week. Cill Dara Golf Club may alter the working hours from time to time as required in consultation with Club Administrator.
Key responsibilities:
- Opening and closing club office
- Checking, sorting, and allocating in-coming post and the management of Cill Dara Golf Club email inbox
- Receipt logging, and management of payments received (cash/cheque/card)
- Preparation and execution of regular bank lodgments
- Receiving incoming phone calls & completing/allocating queries to the relevant personnel
- Liaising with sponsors
- Conducting both shop sales and green fee sales
- Point of contact for suppliers & contractors
- Time sheet management via BRS system
- Competition set-up via BRS system
- Responsible for membership account top-up’s
- Email communications to members.
- Weekly newsletter via BRS system
- Update emails via BRS system
- Report generation
- Club V1 system o Initial interface with catering partners
- Update of club social media and website feeds
Key requirements:
- Ability to manage & execute multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills
- Effective team player, able to form productive relationships with members, visitors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office (word and excel)
- Proficient use and management of email systems
- Ability to build strong working relationships
- Skilled in planning, coordination and execution
- IT literacy skills (Email, Club Systems, Social media & website)
