CNC Programmer – Silent Aire
What you will do
The primary role of the CNC programmer is to perform such duties to facilitate the set up and fabrication of products on machinery. The CNC Programmer serves in a technical capacity for the development and support of production systems currently in use. The primary objective of this position is to create CNC programs for punching and braking machines. You will be responsible for providing various forms of computer-related technical assistance and improving these processes where possible. This position is based in both a live manufacturing environment and in an office environment.
How you will do it
- Develop tooling solutions - both cutting tools and fixtures as needed.
- Solve manufacturing and quality issues utilizing root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Support the Manufacturing Engineers and metal working machine operators with CNC Programs.
- Assist, service, support, and product development with technical related questions pertaining to equipment and programs used.
- Maintain the CNC Program archiving process to assure full technological documentation with CNC path, features, and tooling information.
- Contribute new ideas and positive support to improve the current processes and productivity.
- Responsible for CNC Program downloading & uploading to CNC machines to optimize CNC programs for cycle time reductions.
- Order parts for fabrication equipment as required.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues relating to the network.
What we look for
- Degree in mechanical engineering design and drafting technology, or a related field
- Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience working in a similar CNC role
- Expert working knowledge of AutoCAD/Inventor
- Experience of TruTops Boost is a strong asset
- Excellent planning and organizational skills & effective verbal and written communication skills
- Design experience would be an advantage
- Technically minded with the ability to work as part of a wider team and on your own initiative
- A background working in metal fabrication and engineering would be an advantage but not necessary
