A day in the life:
Generate profitable new business opportunities through conversions of qualified leads.
Prospect and develop a pipeline of targeted business leads while meeting or exceeding individual sales goals.
Actively engage in networking and development of centers of influence.
Collaborate with customer to identify risk management and insurance needs. This includes policy reviews, risk management plans and offering P&C insurance solutions.
Creation of client facing documents, proposals, and renewal presentations.
Partner with banking divisions on cross-selling opportunities to promote client relationship across Bancorp.
Analyze, compare, and negotiate favorable premiums with underwriters.
Review policy forms for accuracy and coverage.
Collaborate with account management and service team to maximize efficiency and results.
Participate in ongoing training and education to improve sales skills and industry knowledge.
Take on other duties as needed to ensure the success of the business.
Qualifications:
5+ years in the insurance industry with underwriting, sales, account management, or other directly related experience. Insurance licensing required.
Independent agency or retail broker experience preferred.
Strong understanding of an Agency Management System and supporting software (such as Applied Systems, Vertafore, AMS360 or Indio)
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and associates.
Solid working knowledge of insurance underwriting, audit, sales, and renewals.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to set and maintain high quality work standards.
Ability to deal effectively with people in various job capacities.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
