About the Role:
The Compensation Manager will be engaged in all aspects of compensation at Grocery Outlet, including administration of all Compensation plans, programs, and processes for employees. This includes base pay and bonus administration, short-term and long-term incentives, annual compensation planning, budget forecasting, policies and procedures, job evaluation, analysis and market pricing, and ad hoc initiatives as needed. This individual will be an active and contributing member of the Grocery Outlet Total Rewards team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Work with the Sr. Director of Total Rewards to oversee the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, including job leveling, salary structures, and recognition programs; develop programs that align with Grocery Outlet’s employee value proposition and budgetary considerations using compensation market data and benchmarking; provide recommendations to leadership for enhancements or changes to compensation structure; regularly monitor the effectiveness of compensation programs and practices and recommend changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
- Act as a consultant to the Human Resources (HR) team and business leadership to support decision making for hiring, promotions, specific organizational initiatives, and annual compensation programs.
- Provide advice to HR Business partners and company leaders on pay decisions, policy interpretations, pay equity and job evaluations / descriptions.
- Partner with members of the HR and Finance teams to administer the annual merit process; work with all levels of management to ensure timelines are adhered to and processing of pay changes is appropriately approved and verified.
- Administer the company’s annual incentive plan (AIP), including the calculation of quarterly and annual payouts.
- Administer the company’s long-term incentive/equity program (LTIP), including the calculation of annual grants by participant, preparation of documentation for Compensation Committee approval, and processing new hire and promotion equity grants on a quarterly basis.
- Manage job descriptions, salary ranges and survey participation for all jobs using appropriate software/position database; implement and maintain databases and records.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Total Rewards to prepare and distribute annual total rewards statements; coordinate with appropriate parties to create a compelling and easy-to-understand total rewards statement.
- Provide ad-hoc compensation analysis to company leadership as requested.
- Develop and implement communication and training for compensation programs for recruiters, human resources professionals and managers to promote understanding and transparency.
- Stay up to date with local, state, and federal minimum wage regulations to ensure Grocery Outlet remains compliant.
About the Pay:
- Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000

- Final compensation will be determined based upon experience and skills and may vary based on location.
About You:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
- 7-9 years of Compensation experience with at least 2-3 years of experience managing and motivating a team
- Previous experience building relationships and consulting with all levels of the organization.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail; solution oriented.
- Ability to work across a moderately sized and yet complex organization; ability to execute quickly against multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen and respond to information effectively and to give and receive feedback.
