Job description
The Compliance Manager directs the workflow and procedures of the Compliance Department, oversee production, understand program compliance regulations, motivating the team to ensure it provides the most efficient loan production and customer service outcomes to our clients, and adhere to Program Compliance guidelines. This position reports to the SVP of Compliance.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Utilize key performance indicators to track effectiveness and team performance.
- Collaborate with sales and operations to ensure the business is complying with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Participate in regulatory exams and internal audits, including coordinating materials and drafting responses.
- Lead MCR and HMDA Reporting.
- Partner with systems implementation teams on system and LOS enhancements.
- Support the Sr. Compliance Specialist with second level review all suspicious activity, red flags, and AML escalated to the Compliance Department.
- Monitor the compliance help desk and ensure the team responds to all compliance inquiries, including loan level
- Lead implementation of compliance improvements.
- Manage complaints: research, root cause, and responding within timing requirements.
- Ensure file cancellations requested by Sales and Underwriting are completed correctly and on time.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Education and Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of mortgage experience and 5 years of recent Compliance experience.
- In depth knowledge RESPA, TILA, HMDA and Fair Lending.
