Growing General Contracting firm in Crofton Maryland is seeking a Construction Quality Control Manager ( "CQC”) to join our team. As a CQC, you will be responsible for creating, implementing and administering the construction QC program.
The successful candidate must possess the requisite experience that will permit them to be the CQC manager on the company's government construction projects. Prior experience working on federal government projects is required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and administer the QC Plan following the three phases of control.
  • Ensure all project personnel and subcontractors understand and comply with the QC requirements.
  • Certify that all submittals are in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Develop the Preparatory Meeting agendas, facilitate the Preparatory Meetings and participate in the Initial, Follow-up and Final Inspections
  • Review plans and specifications to ensure requirements are met for each construction process.
  • Complete necessary inspection reports and documentation.
  • Inspect and evaluate the adequacy of work performed by subcontractors; Identify non-conformities, analyze root causes, and take corrective measures.
  • Coordinate QC activities with Project Manager and Superintendent.
  • Maintain daily paperwork such as reports, log updates, and email.
  • Manage and monitor required testing.
  • Conduct pre-final/final inspections; establish punch list; and, ensure all deficiencies are corrected.
  • Must be physically able to access the job site, climb ladders, and work around equipment and workers in a safe manner.
  • Conduct and/or attend QC meetings.
  • Prepare documentation for each definable feature of work in their area of responsibility; Distribute written inspection/test results to appropriate personnel/agencies.
  • Ability to organize tasks and work efficiently without direct supervision.

Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience, including Construction Quality Control Manager on federal government projects
  • A mature professional with excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Familiarity with government specifications and quality control/quality assurance procedures
  • Army Corps of Engineers quality control (CQC) training and certification within the last five years
  • Proficiency with Web based interactive programs and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project)
  • OSHA 30

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $58.00 per hour
