Job Goal: The Construction Superintendent manages on-site production for our condo development projects including trade subcontractors, production quality and project walk-throughs and punch lists. This position is also responsible for performing production activities as needed on the job site, along with handling client questions.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage the daily activities of employees and trade subcontractors for construction projects.

  • Ensure that projects are built to requirements and specifications established by construction drawings, building codes and clients.
  • Proactively monitor production schedules, critical paths for projects and trade sub-contractor schedules to ensure timely project completion.
  • Manage subcontractor scheduling to ensure adherence to the project plan and schedule.
  • Monitor project quality and cost control to safeguard profitability.
  • Schedule and manage inspections as required.

Manage quality control and standard operating procedures.

  • Inspect the project site daily.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and secure job site.
  • Compile weekly Progress Reports per project.
  • Keep the Project Manager informed of project progress and issues.

Proactively communicate with employees, trade subcontractors and clients on job sites.

  • Conduct daily huddles with employees and trade subcontractors to review work goals and address issues.
  • Provide status updates, answer questions and ensure that construction meets client expectations.

Manage materials, equipment and supplies on-site.

  • Receive, inspect and verify all deliveries.
  • Store materials properly to proactively avoid damage.
  • Maintain equipment and tools to ensure proper operation and availability.

Direct activities of field employees, trade subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Assist trade subcontractors with tasks, when necessary.
  • Explain and ensure compliance with the safety program to all site personnel.
  • Maintain quality control standards and supervise their implementation.
  • Ensure projects are built to quality standards.
  • Strive for zero-defect construction.
  • Handle, report and document any site accidents according to company and other required guidelines (OHSA, Workers Compensation).
  • Consult with the Project Manager on plan revisions and Change Orders.
  • Conduct pre-closing walk-throughs with clients and client service/warranty coordinator, and coordinate punch list work.

Education/Experience:

  • Proven experience, preferably 5+ years, in Construction.
  • 2 years of construction supervision experience.
  • Previous experience working commercial projects and condo developments a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and materials.
  • Familiarity with quality, health and safety standards on a construction job site.
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
