Mill Controller

Valliant, OK

This position reports to the Mill Manager in Valliant, Oklahoma. Valliant is a 5,000+ ton per day containerboard mill with three (3) paper machines, three (3) continuous digesters, three (3) secondary fiber plants and a utilities/chemical recovery complex. It currently operates with 300+ mill employees and 150 contract maintenance employees in a results oriented environment.

Key Functions (include but not limited to):

• Strategic partner with Mill Manager and Leadership Team.
• Serve as a pro-active participant in the mill leadership team by identifying and recommending solutions to business problems.
• Supply timely and meaningful analytic data that measures business results and provides useful insights to help managers understand performance.
• Continually improve analytic methods and financial systems.
• Direct and coordinate the preparation and analysis of operating results, operating trends and operating forecasts and budgets.
• Safeguard Company assets from anything other than their proper use by designing and implementing cost-effective control systems which reflect the risk environment for the business and the assets to be safeguarded.
• Ensure that the facility maintains accurate books and records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and that the business is conducted in compliance with established corporate, sector and division policies, procedures and practices.
• Establish proper account review and analysis procedures
• Actively perform individual career counseling and development sessions with finance department employees and provide on-going training opportunities.

The Skills You Will Bring:

• BS in Accounting or Finance or related field
• MBA preferred but not required
• Minimum ten years in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of five years in a Leadership role
• Accounting and Controls; GAAP knowledge and Financial Concepts
• Forecasting, Budgeting, and Strategic Planning
• Performance Reporting and Analysis
• Financial Modeling
• SAP and Business ERP systems Working Knowledge and related general ledger impacts
