JOB TITLE:Course Marshal/Flagger

REPORTS TO: Track Rental Supervisor/Track Operations Manager

POSITION TERM: Part Time / Seasonal

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of the Course Marshal/Flagger position is to provide safe, effective and timely course control during track rentals and events.

This is accomplished by -

• Observing everything within the area of responsibility as assigned by management– cars, drivers, media photographers, spectators, safety equipment, barriers, track condition, etc., – for any unusual or improper condition that may affect the safe conduct of the event, and providing feedback to Starter/Race Control
• Communicating with drivers using flags, hand signals or other means of any change in course condition, mechanical status of their vehicles, penalties, or other information at the direction of Starter/Race Control.
• Relaying received information and instructions to affected personnel, including emergency vehicle crews, drivers or other participants.
• Activating electronic LED flagging system for the course marshal’s individual station.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good communication skills and the ability to speak clearly in a loud environment.
• Follow and communicate instructions accurately.
• Knowledge of motorsports preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions.
• Meet reasonable physical requirements. Job duties are performed outdoors all day, requiring exposure to all types of weather conditions.
• Must be able to remain alert at all times in a loud and often busy environment.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Use common sense and good judgment. Must be able to think logically in high-pressure situations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Salinas, CA 93908: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
