- This position reports to the Support Services Supervisor and coordinates with them to arrange the sales floor at the beginning of every semester.
- This position closely collaborates with the Support Services Supervisor using VERBA and NetSuite software.
- This position may assist with order fulfillment during busy times, such as book rush.
- This position oversees purchasing, receiving, storing, issuing, and caring for textbooks.
- This position is expected to assist with other bookstore activities, such as assisting customers on the sales floor during football games.
- Knowledge of large-scale textbook retailing operations that include a working knowledge of POS, ICS, VERBA, NetSuite, and university financial management systems.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with publishers, wholesalers, faculty, staff, and students.
- This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software
- Knowledge of mathematics
- Prefer a working knowledge of collegiate course material retailing methods and procedures.
- Prefer working knowledge of NetSuite Business Systems ICS/POS software along with VERBA software systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
- Prefer experience with Excel spreadsheets and data entry.
Customer service is the most important element in any retail space, and that extends to the University Bookstore. During our busiest times, like Book Rush, the Course Materials Coordinator will be expected to provide excellent customer service with faculty and students. Good customer service is comprised of professionalism, courtesy, friendliness, and resolving issues quickly and efficiently.
