Job description
The Courtyard by Marriott Sedona in looking for the next superstar to join a wonderful team as the Bistro Food and Beverage Manager.
This position will lead and support the bistro restaurant breakfast and dinner service, along with the banquet catering service on property.
The newest addition to our team will need to be energetic, passionate about food service, customer service, and knowledgeable about the inner working of a restaurant service experience. Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage the hotel food and beverage operation to ensure quality service and standards while delivering a positive guest experience.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations concerning health, safety or other requirements.
- Manage local food and beverage marketing programs for the hotel.
- Conduct proper food and beverage inventory procedures. Determine minimum and maximum stocks for all food, beverage, material and equipment.
- Ensure the security and proper storage of food and beverage products, inventory and equipment and replenish
supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste. - Ensure all food and beverage equipment are in proper operational condition and are cleaned on a regular basis.
- Ensure that all food and beverage facilities including banquet/convention space are cleaned, vacuumed and
properly stocked according to anticipated business volume. - Notify engineering immediately of any maintenance and repair needs.
- Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals. Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all
guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction. - Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work and establish performance and development
goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and
improve team member performance. - Educate and train all team members in compliance with federal, state and local laws and safety regulations.
- Ensure staff is properly trained on quality and service standards, has the necessary tools and equipment and is
empowered to carry out job duties. - Ensure all credit and financial transactions are handled in a secure manner.
- Serve as Manager on Duty at various times.
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager or other Sunridge corporate officers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Certificate from college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers
or employees of organization. Spanish fluency strongly preferred.
MATH ABILITY:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to deal with problems
involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises or assists in the supervisory function of front desk staff consisting of 1-5 employees. Carries out
supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities
include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
