POSITION TITLE: Creative Services Specialist

BUSINESS UNIT: Marketing

POSITION REPORTS TO: Marketing Sr. Manager

POSITIONS REPORTING TO THIS ROLE: None

LOCATION: Crystal Mountain, Enumclaw, Washington

WAGE: This is a full-time position with benefits, pay ranges from $25.00-31.64 per hour DOE.

JOB SUMMARY:

Detail-oriented graphic designer responsible for marketing projects that support Crystal Mountain's resort business units in maximizing revenue and/or profit from each guest visit, as well as assisting in achieving financial and skier visit goals. Includes project coordination and management of campaigns focused on in-resort while supporting the team's National and In-State efforts. The graphic design specialist will be responsible for ensuring the Crystal Mountain brand and associated sub-brands are accurately communicated in both design and messaging and will also play a key role in communicating the Crystal Mountain brand to internal and external partners. This position requires strong graphic design and digital design knowledge and skills, some illustration skills, and strong project management skills, with the ability to use these design skills in combination with our brand standards at a fast-paced level while maintaining project timelines, organization, and impeccable attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The graphic designer is responsible for the following duties and should possess the following skills:
  • Execute creative and marketing assets across all marketing channels, including, but not limited to: digital banner ads, landing pages, social media, Emails, campaigns, web/blog stories, collateral, digital & physical signage, and more
  • Brand - responsibilities include ensuring brand and design guidelines are adhered to in all projects and acting as a brand authority for internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Support website, email, and social presence with brand guidance and asset creation
  • Ability to take a project from concept through completion and do so on schedule and within budget.
  • Budget - understand basic budgeting and be able to forecast, and manage a project within an assigned budget, process invoices and work within the parameters set in the overall marketing budget.
  • Relationship Management - manage both internal and external relationships to maximize productivity and create a positive environment for all parties to work.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills, ability to effectively multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously
  • Holds self and others accountable for a successful output by managing expectations through proactive and ongoing communication
  • Balancing a high-volume workload and a wide range of stakeholder's marketing needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build project timelines to ensure projects are completed on time and in accordance with the business needs
  • Coordinates with the project manager to create
    • In-resort communication, including ads, resort signage, on-mountain signage, and other outlets as identified
    • Work with team and agencies to develop marketing programs and campaigns to ensure consistent timing & message through all planned channels.
  • Develop and execute new ways to market and communicate in-resort
  • Maintain full knowledge of Crystal products
  • Raising the standards of our brand and marketing efforts through creativity and following current marketing design trends and strategies as our industry evolves

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Should work in collaboration and under the advisement but within reason of the Brand Manager, Digital Manager, and Events and Partnerships Manager
  • Photography and/or videography knowledge and some experience as well as production knowledge (should have skills in PremierePro, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.)
    • Will be expected to help gather content when necessary
  • Functions as an ambassador of Crystal Mountain, modeling and sharing the Crystal values and culture with our guests and employees. Upholds a welcoming, professional image. Continually strives to exceed our guest's expectations and create memories for our guests and staff
  • Team members are required to attend events such as meetings, required trainings, and participating in employee dinners/events

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
  • Applicants without a portfolio will not be considered.
  • Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. of material when necessary.
  • Intermediate or above skiing and/or riding ability.
  • Must have a valid US Driver's license.
  • Must have own transportation.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS:

Very strong oral and written communication skills. Advanced computer skills including Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design), MS Office products, including Office 365 suite (Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive). Experience with Digital Marketing and Digital Design. Experience working with Asana, or similar project management software. Motion design experience is a plus. Experience designing and executing large scale installation projects, ability to manage vendors, and knowledge of the printing process. Highly collaborative and thrives in a team environment. Highly motivated and self-directed. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with internal and external partners. This position works closely with internal business unit managers, marketing and design team and outside agencies to ensure successful completion of all projects and plans. Knowledge of ski industry marketing a plus.

Bachelor's degree in marketing or related business field. Minimum of two years' experience in marketing, design and/or the resort industry.
