    WHAT IS SATURDAY SCHOLAR COMMUNITY?
Federal Way Public Schools is pleased to announce the launch of Saturday Scholar Community (SSC) after Spring Break! SSC is a Saturday morning program designed with scholars in mind. Feedback shared from various Scholar Advisory Groups highlighted this need for students to come together, be seen and heard, connect with others and be provided with academic supports.

Saturday Scholar Community is an opportunity to provide academic learning, and to offer multiple fun and engaging activities that build community and social emotional supports including athletic intramural sports that elevate sportsmanship and teamwork, and fine arts experiences to nurture the whole child. Every scholar enrolled will participate in academic strategies to help prepare them for the year ahead!

Saturday Scholar Community is available to current 5 th graders entering middle school next year and current 8 th graders entering high school next year. Its focus will be on specific academic transitional experiences that will help scholars as they prepare for that next level in their schooling. What can your 5th and 8th grader expect when they move to a new building? What learning experiences, note-taking strategies, and communication skills will help them become more confident and organized?
