SUMMARY: Processes and delivers materials, equipment and/or supplies to all campus locations. Meets a time schedule that permits predictable receipt and dispatch of deliverable items between various campus installations and operational units.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
- Sorts, loads, transports and delivers materials, equipment and/or supplies to various locations throughout the college district
- Classifies and processes outgoing mail and materials for college operations for accurate and timely dispatch. Pickup and delivers incoming/outgoing mail and materials
- Picks up and delivers high priority materials, equipment and/or supplies which must be delivered within a specific time frame
- Provides courier service between NOC locations at Tonkawa, Enid Stillwater and the University Center at Ponca City in all types of weather and road conditions
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant job-related regulations; provides information and assistance to others
- Operates fork lift, pallet jack and/or hand truck for heavy lifting and large deliveries
- Follows safety procedures at all times and uses proper lifting techniques to ensure personal health and safety
- Completes hazardous chemical awareness program and maintains up-to-date knowledge regarding safe transport and handling of chemicals and other potentially hazardous substances
- Responds to requests for transfer of books and merchandise from bookstore warehouse to campuses/centers and off-site locations
- Schedules and coordinates deliveries with vendors and/or offsite contractors to accommodate the needs of the college
- Monitors stock on hand, conducts inventories and conveys pertinent information to Physical Plant Administrators
- Stays abreast of laws, policies and procedures concerning freight lines, UPS and other delivery services
- Organizes and maintains warehouse area in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintains accurate records of all shipments and transactions
- Maintain job manual for position with regular updates to describe processes when substitutions are needed
- Cross trains in other department operations as assigned
- Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent; six months of experience making deliveries and sorting materials for routing or filling orders. Ability to organize and schedule work to meet established, strict timelines with minimum supervision. Ability to work effectively with the public. Able to comprehend various regulations/policies and communicate to those who are unfamiliar with them. Must have valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Oklahoma and possess an acceptable driving record. May be required to obtain forklift driver certification soon after hire. Subject to satisfactory Fair Credit Reporting Act Disclosure that includes a criminal background check
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work involves transporting materials in all types of weather, driving a van, and sorting and organizing materials. May work with hazardous chemicals and toxic substances occasionally. Requires scheduling and resourcefulness to maintain tight time schedule in various traffic and weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Electrician’s job. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to lift greater than 25 pounds or more; will require repetitive reaching, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting; will require working at heights greater than 4 feet.
