Position Overview: Responsible for making deliveries to customers efficiently and professionally, while adhering to all safety procedures. Assist in loading and unloading materials. Support warehouse operations by means of assisting with shipping/receiving, material staging, stock organization, inventory management and quality control. The hours required for this position will vary, but are typically anytime between 6 - 7:30 am through 3 - 4:30 pm.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

- Performs routine inspection of vehicle and supplies to ensure safety.

- Assist in planning route to and from customers' businesses and adjusts accordingly.

- Ensures that paperwork is complete and accurate.

- Delivers merchandise to customer and contacts customer if they are not present.

- Prepares and maintains records in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and requirements.

- Provides assistance to resolve customer issues.

- Check quality, accuracy and stability of the load. Secure as necessary.

- Collect monies due prior to unloading any material on COD accounts.

- Responsible for delivery safety; including compliance with all driver and material safety and regulatory requirements.

- Leverage the delivery visit to build relationships with customers, identify potential customer issues or concerns. Develop effective relationships with customer contacts that support customer satisfaction.

- Act with a sense of urgency and accountability to satisfy the customer requirements for timely delivery.

- Provide feedback to Shop Manager on project insights and sales information gathered from customer contacts.

- Assist in loading and unloading trucks and provide warehouse support and coverage as required.

- Report and document any damaged or missing material to Shop Management in timely manner.

- Coordinate with Shop Management for all customer pickups/returns prior to putting material on vehicle and coming back to BR Johnson.

Assist and Support the warehouse in the following functions and tasks:

- Shipping and receiving of all door and hardware materials, includes loading/unloading and forklift operation.

- Staging materials for Customer purchases.

- Staging materials for Airways projects.

- Stock management; includes transport and stock replenishment.

- Inventory control/management of all door and hardware materials.

- Keep warehouse clean and organized on a daily basis.

- Perform other duties as assigned including general building and grounds maintenance.

- Observe and abide by all company policy and safety regulations

Qualifications & Skills: Must be comfortable driving a 16'-18' High Cube Box truck. Must be open-minded, self-motivated, and willing to learn.

Education/Experience: Clean NYS driving record - We will pull your driving record prior to hire. High school diploma/equivalent. Minimum two years’ experience driving in the building materials industry, experience welding and fabricating hollow metal products; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift certification helpful, but not required.

Skills: Ability to read & write at a high school level, read a tape measure, and perform basic math. Strong communication skills.

Physical Demands: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires sitting or standing for long periods of time and/or walking.

Other Qualification or Requirements: Follow all company policies and procedures both verbal and written.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
