Job Summary:

The Demand Planner is responsible for development and maintenance of a collaborative forecasting process that collects and reconciles information from diverse sources into a single unified statement of demand.

The ideal candidate will be organized and professional, detail oriented, and possess excellent communication skills. An in-depth knowledge of advanced mathematical and statistical forecast modeling with a background in data analysis, reporting and strategic planning is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results. Requires partnership and cross functional work with sales, marketing and other key stakeholders.
  • Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Adhere to all predetermined KPI metrics and identify value added approach to go forward plans.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Leadership to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Utilize Integrated Business Planning to support development of key statistical models for assigned categories.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning.

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS with 2-4 years of experience
  • Master’s Degree Preferred
  • SAP APO/IBP Experience Required
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills along with ability to succeed in team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and drive processes to completion.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop new techniques or approaches as dictated by the business.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an established ability to effectively communicate to a diverse group.
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent MS Office skills. Candidate must be experienced with advanced Excel functions and formulas.
  • Some travel required.
