About the Team
Document Storage Service provides secure, resilient, and highly scalable persistence with simple, easy-to-use APIs. We use best-in-class database and object storage technologies to store and manage all customer documents for all of the Workday application requirements.
About the Role
As a DevOps Engineer in our team, you will be responsible for deploying JVM applications using Chef and Kubernetes, and will have the opportunity to work in an evolving micro services environment where resilience and scalability are key.
This role requires a strong interest in distributed systems, concurrency, distributed storage technologies and system design.

- you can build and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure for critical applications
- you love restful services, service oriented architecture, distributed systems, cloud systems and micro services
- you have great experience with Chef, Ansible or Puppet and you have Docker and Kubernetes in your speed dial
- of course you can write Chef cookbooks in your sleep
- for bigger tasks, you will bring multiple people together with you to achieve the delivery goals.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors or higher degree in a computer related field.

great experience with continuous integrations and deployment using Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar
Other Qualifications

Proficient collaborating with teammates to design, maintain and improve highly available and fault tolerant distributed software systems

An understanding and experience with topics related to performance and scale, security, availability, deployment and operations

A testing/quality approach - unit, system and integration testing, feature toggles, canary deployments, gradual rollouts

Exposure to operating system concepts covering memory and storage, threading and concurrency, networking and sockets, process management

Track record of being responsible for a service in production with experience of production triage and on-call

Experience with logging, monitoring, metrics, stats technologies
