Diesel Mechanic - Shop Manager:
Must have 5yrs. Experience in Supervising others and preforming administrative duties. Must have heavy equipment and diesel repair expense, O&G experience a plus. Must have a mechanic shop management experience. Tasks may include preparing cost estimates, scheduling, problem solving, preforming preventive maintenance, and scheduling inspections.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
-Hires and trains employees.
-Oversees the day-to-day workflow and assignments of service staff.
-Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
-Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
-Oversees DOT scheduled maintenance and inspections.
-Supervises, trains, organizers, shop, and equipment parts.
-Reconciles operating accounts and records including reconciling parts inventory.
-Drafts and maintains operating reports as requested by the district manager.
-Monitors inventory, and orders supplies, tools.
-Schedules and arranges necessary maintenance for the service equipment.
-Ensures that the shop service area is neat, clean, and safe.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
-Excellent managerial and leadership skills.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Ability to prepare operating reports and to reconcile records.
-Extensive knowledge of diesel repair with ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
Education and Experience:
-High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
-At least 5 yrs. of related experience working in a Shop Manager role required. 5 or more years of experience preferred.
-Completion of a diesel mechanic training program by an accredited school is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
-Exposure to vapors and other fluids.
-Must be able to lift and move 25 pounds at a time.
-Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stretch to perform inspection and repair.
-Must be able to handle tools required to perform repair.
-May be required to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
