The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for overseeing and inspecting the mechanical components of vehicles to identify problems. The Diesel Mechanic will use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for overseeing and inspecting the mechanical components of vehicles to identify problems. The Diesel Mechanic will use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Responsible for servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles.
- Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- Select tools, equipment, or technologies for use in operations or projects.
- Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Service vehicles to maintain functionality.
- Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.
- Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks.
- Repair engine failures, mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, body repair, and replacement of parts and components.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver's license.
- Working and understanding Mechanic principles, practices, and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronic.
- Excellent time management skills with an approving ability to meet deadlines.
- Provide excellent customer service skills.
- Must be bilingual.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives supervision from the worksite supervisor. The position has formally assigned supervisory responsibility and authority. Must complete jobs without constant supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works standing and walking for prolonged periods of time while in the work area. Steps, stoops, crawls, climbs, lifts, bends, kneels, pulls, and pushes while performing job duties such as heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects up to 55 pounds. Physical work is a primary part of the job. The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:
This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing. DLP Staffing has a Drug Free Workplace Policy that includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.
