Digital Manager

Our Renewable Energy Business Unit currently has a need for a Digital Manager on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Newbridge and will report to the Stakeholder & Advocacy Manager. The successful candidate will be development, day-to-day management and smooth operation of various digital requirements across a variety of renewable energy infrastructure projects (i.e. wind farms, battery storage, solar farms and hydrogen projects) and at various stages of development and operation including but not limited to project site launches, online tools, web applications and Community Benefit Funds. They will manage all online project-related communications across Renewable Energy’s Project Portfolio, including large scale strategic infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the Digital Communications strategy for all projects as required. The Digital Manager will be responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with Community Benefit Funding associated with our developments and RESS-Funding requirements. They will work closely with other teams across the Stakeholder and Advocacy team, Planning Team, Commercial Team, Construction Team, Operations Team and Bord na Móna public affairs team and any third-party consultants/contractors engaged ensure alignment of all digital requirements. The Digital Manager will also be responsible for the management and implementation of Community Benefit Funds across our project portfolio as required. They will also assume responsibility for the pre-planning, construction, and operational digital communication plans for large scale capital projects.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Manage, implement, and monitor Community Benefit Funds across our project portfolio as required. Manage compliance with Community Benefit Funding associated with our developments and RESS-Funding timeline and reporting requirements;
  • The Digital Manager will be responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with Community Benefit Funding associated with our developments and in particular RESS-Funding requirements. Provide end to end digital communication management. Scope Project requirements and develop a detailed digital communication plan and monitor progress. Deliver digital projects on time ensuring quality standards are met. Develop support documentation including risk logs and requirement specifications. Highlight potential risks or malfunctions and act proactively to resolve issues. Seek opportunities for improvement and suggest new projects;
  • Work with the Stakeholder and Advocacy Team and the relevant Project Managers on content planning, sourcing and creation to ensure that content meets business unit requirements, is delivered in a timely and effective manner and is in line with the requirements as set out in the Government Code of Practice for Wind Energy Development in Ireland Guidelines for Community Engagement and RESS Best Practice Principle Guidelines . Create digital content plans and deliver content in line with plans. As required, develop and assist relevant Project Manager with SharePoint File Management;
  • Collaborate with internal teams and the Lean Centre to identify new web ideas, define requirements, and implement and deliver projects successfully. Establish and use “best web practices” for the online development and management of project websites and the RESS Community Benefit Funds. Manage the digital expectations of key stakeholders during the project lifecycle;
  • Work with the Stakeholder and Advocacy Team to plan and deliver digital content in line with the Renewable Energy and Company’s wider communications strategy. Follow the Company’s content guidelines for content design and ensure that content guidelines are adhered to across all project specific websites and online platforms;
  • Deliver in conjunction with the Stakeholder and Advocacy Team and Project Managers as required, digital materials for Projects, Public Consultations and/or Stakeholder Engagement events for renewable energy projects and Community Funds. Be an active member of the project team to ensure overall digital goals are achieved;
  • The successful candidate should have strong people interaction and relationship building skills across multiple functions within the organisation. Strong Attention to detail. Good organisational and time-management skills. Strong communication, research, presentation, and creative skills. Must be creative and be able to think outside the box;
  • Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s, objectives;
  • All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • Hons Degree (Level 8 FETAC) in Computer Science, Digital Marketing or equivalent essential; Post Graduate (Level 9 FETAC) qualification in a relevant discipline, (e.g. Computer Science, Digital Marketing) desirable but not essential; 5 years+ experience necessary; Superior knowledge of web platform WordPress, Strong knowledge of HTML, web publishing and SharePoint;
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Strong knowledge of online technology particularly including social networks, virtual worlds, mobile and other emerging trends – including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram; Full knowledge of MS Office required including Excel, PowerPoint, Word; Superior Knowledge of RESS Community Benefit Fund Guidelines and T&Cs and in particular online requirements; High level of competency in development of governance documents and file management systems;
  • Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics; Excellent writing skills in English; High degree of accuracy in executing work;
  • Ability to schedule work and deliver to tight deadlines; Strong Analytical Skill and Planning Abilities; Self-starter and flexible in terms of availability for community engagement outside of normal hours.
