Job description
Direct Care Workers are responsible for providing support and social companionship to adults in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have the ability to recognize the subtle signs of distress, and have the patience to care for individuals who may become withdrawn or agitated. Direct Care Workers must enjoy working with intellectually disabled individuals and have a strong commitment to helping individuals maintain their dignity and physical health.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with co-workers and other care providers.
- Develop relationships with clients, as well as their family members or guardians.
- Use effective communication techniques.
- Raise issues and concerns in a constructive manner to management.
- Assist client's in the completion of daily tasks such as personal hygiene, meal prep, laundry, and dressing appropriately.
- Monitor client's physical and emotional well-being.
- Make suggestions for resolving problems to management.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
