Business Development Director, B2B Sales - Remote in US
*This national role will require occasional travel and some work during the evenings and occasional weekends.*

As a key member of the Commercial team, you will be responsible for driving partnerships with organizations wishing to leverage genomic data and insights for the personalized health journey of the population they serve. You will collaborate with high-profile government agencies, institutions, GPOs, and industry partners - from initial engagement to go-live and production, and throughout the entire customer lifecycle - to help them leverage Invitae to achieve their goals. This role will be responsible for the US B2B market and will report directly to the Head of US Sales.
We are looking for a thoughtful, driven, results-oriented relationship builder who can execute flawlessly at every stage of interaction, from the sales process to understanding our partners' needs, working closely with senior executives, and translating a clinical product and experience into impact for our customers.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the B2B subject matter expert as it relates to Invitae's portfolio offerings.
- Create a strategic roadmap for the B2B program, focusing on current and future opportunities, commercial objectives, organizational goals, revenue targets, and partnership alignment.
- Determine which Invitae products/services are best positioned to meet partner needs and use this information as a value proposition for winning business.
- Forecast expected returns on potential contracts, identify market demands, and understand resource needs to execute upon and maximize opportunities.
- Ability to develop new relationships with potential partners and leverage existing stakeholders to ensure the B2B pipeline is growing and successful.
- Manage and track the full B2B lifecycle including sourcing, structuring, negotiating, contracting and closing.
- Own the end-to-end evaluation process for all opportunities and ensure alignment with commercial objectives and strategic plan.
- Proactively share progress and review potential setbacks with leadership to ensure obstacles are overcome and deliverables met.
- Cultivate strong internal relationships and collaborate effectively with Invitae teams and stakeholders.
What you bring:
- A passion for sales with a high degree of accountability and integrity.
- 10+ years of experience working B2B business development in the life sciences, diagnostics, or personalized healthcare space.
- Deep knowledge of the Oncology space.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work in a rapidly evolving business environment.
- Metrics backed, analytical, and results driven professional, with a proven track record of success.
- Expert presentation skills with strong executive presence and comfort engaging across all levels of an organization.
- Deep industry relationships and ability to form partnerships with clinical decision makers, KOLs and executives to help drive business.
- Understanding of the healthcare landscape including regulatory, reimbursement, and policy developments.
- Demonstrated success in project and client management requiring highly developed analytical abilities and thought partnership, as well as practical and action-oriented engagement.
- Understanding of complex organizational challenges and a proven track record of delivery and rigorous follow-through.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
