Job Summary: The Director of Campus Operations serves in a senior leadership capacity and is responsible for overseeing campus facilities, safety, and security. Duties include oversight, scheduling and supervision of all Facilities Maintenance Department operations and personnel, including maintenance and repair activities, custodial services and contracted services while operating within MCCS and EMCC policy and ensuring that the physical operation of the College meets budgetary and strategic objectives. The Director will also manage, schedule, and supervise contracted services for campus security as well as oversee the scheduling and maintenance of central fleet vehicles.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identifying, managing, and completing a wide variety of capital and operational projects across all buildings, facilities, grounds, utilities, and energy management systems owned or operated by the College to provide a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for students, faculty and staff in fulfillment of EMCCs mission.
- This director continually inspects and assesses the conditions of campus buildings and facilities to identify, budget and effect maintenance, repairs or renovation needs and problem solving as required. Respond to requests for data collection for multiple projects.
- Prepares the annual facilities maintenance, and safety and security operating and capital budgets, in alignment with identified college-wide priorities and capital projects.
- Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates activities to ensure the public safety of all students, employees and the EMCC community. This position will develop and implement campus safety protocols, programs and initiatives for students, staff and the public.
- This director enforces college policy and complies with local ordinances to support the goals and mission of the College. The Director is responsible for campus environmental health and safety compliance and will play an integral role in ensuring an environment that fosters student success, external customer satisfaction, and compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in relevant field, substantial experience in facilities maintenance and safety and security, and substantial experience in budgeting and supervising. Desired: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. Certified or licensed in any of the following areas: Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC or related trade.

- Proven computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.
