As the Director of Fleet Tire Management for Crete Carrier, you will be main point of contact for all tire related concerns. You will operate within a diverse team comprised of Senior Maintenance Directors, Regional Maintenance Directors, Shop Managers, Parts team, Warranty team, invoicing team, and road breakdown team. The primary responsibilities are assisting the Senior Maintenance Director in negotiating pricing with tire service support vendors and getting the best tire at the best value to keep our trucks and trailers moving. You will also conduct audits and accurately account for all tires across the 16 shops, conduct shop audits for tire work orders, monitor and distribute tire inventories to ensure shops do not run low. You will interact with 12 retread plants to ensure our vendor support meets/exceeds specifications. You will also assist may other business lines in administrative ways ensuring accuracy in billing and accountability. Travel as needed up to 50%.

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced subject matter expert in maintenance, workplace safety, procurement strategies and data driven management and leadership. A Self-starter is a must, possessing the ability to manage multiple complex issues / tasks simultaneously as well as be able to influence, and develop relationships at all organization levels will be critical to your success.

Job Description

Position Summary
Manages the tire purchasing and inventory program for all locations while working alongside multiple departments within the Company.

Role and Responsibilities
⦁ Manages the tire program, including the warranty capture processes, approving requests for purchases, and maintaining tire inventories
⦁ Assist the Senior Maintenance Director in negotiating pricing with tire service support vendors
⦁ Reviews tire work orders and identifies pricing discrepancies
⦁ Prepares reports to summarize the activities of the tire program
⦁ Performs audits on Road Call Center and Company Shop locations in order to control repair costs and identify process improvement(s)
⦁ Serves as point-of-contract for other departments with tire-related questions
⦁ Ensure vendor support through interactive communication processes
⦁ Establishes and maintains positive working relationships
⦁ Receives and carries out instructions
⦁ Manages multiple priorities and deadlines
⦁ Maintains regular and predictable attendance
⦁ Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

· Performs work requiring advanced knowledge of maintenance, workplace safety, procurement strategies and data driven management

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; or three to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Requirements
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at times
· Ability to travel as needed – up to 50% of the time
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
