SUMMARY
Working directly for the Vice President of MP&A, this position is responsible for the short and long-term planning of the Contact Lens and medical eye care supplies business. The Director will implement, communicate and lead strategies to meet/exceed sales, margin and operating targets for the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all vendor contracts and relationships and work cross functionally with offices as well as senior leadership to launch new products, identify marketing promotions and develop competitive pricing strategies.
- Develop and drive the product strategy, product mix and financial performance for our contact lens and medical eye care supplies business.
- Utilize analysis to drive financial results and maximize sales and gross profit.
- Perform pre-seasonal pricing analyses vs. our competitors to identify most profitable strategy. Negotiate with vendor partners as well as internal cross-functional partners (i.e. Marketing) to develop promotions to drive incremental sales volume and gross margin.
- Monitor business KPI's weekly, monthly, seasonally, etc. and create tools to maintain and review product performance. Develop a suite of dashboard reporting to provide business insights, trends, goal attainments, etc. to leadership. Identify risks to current business and provide recommendations for future strategies.
- Support the promotional process with post mortem financial analysis and communicate successes and opportunities.
- Partner with offices and regional teams to launch new products.
- Collaborate with our acquisition team to transition new offices into our distribution network and our business process. Determine potential write-offs/reserves needed to deal with acquisition's current and old inventory
- Maintain direct and frequent contact with vendors and offices to share trends, review issues and actions, trouble shoot product issues and ensure timely flow of inventory from the vendors.
- Support the Vendor contracting process with business analyses and recommendations to ensure the most beneficial terms of the contract.
- Oversee the implementation of these businesses onto our ERP platform
- Perform any/all ad hoc analysis as needed to support operations issues/considerations/concerns. Drive timely and effective communication with business partners
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience overseeing management of contracts
- Experience analyzing current trends and forecasting future trends.
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in retail math
- Experience with negotiating contracts
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
- Be able to draw conclusions from data – not just report it – and communicate in a simple, straight-forward manner.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage competing priorities
- Promotes team work and is able to work cross-functionally
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum Required: 10 years of related industry experience or 7+ years eye care

- Minimum Required: None
SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Experience managing a procure to pay system
