The Director of People Experience is responsible for all people practices and personnel needs for the credit union. People operations and practices include administration and management of the People Experience program polices, programs and services including: recruitment, retention, orientation and training, legal compliance, team member benefits, compensation, payroll processing (Paylocity), team member relations, procedures, team member communications, team member events and working with the management teams. The Director of People Experience provides support to internal members and supports business initiatives to maximize organizational effectiveness and help drive a high performance, valued based culture for Excite.

KEY PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
- Manage and implement Excites World Class Internal Team Member Experience initiatives including all stages of employment from Recruiting to Retirement.
- Promote open door policy while utilizing HR expertise to create an environment of trust, authenticity, compassion, confidence and accountability.
- Plan, design, organize and deliver annual Team Member Summit and Leadership Summit.
- Create and deliver monthly board reports reflecting metrics of the People Experience team.
- Partner with Leaders and hiring managers, to execute recruiting and talent acquisition activities including requisition, compensation and budget approval, development of announcement, interview material, screening applicants, selection and hiring.
- Manage team member engagement and survey feedback process and action planning for all departments in bi-annual basis
- Oversee comprehensive team member training and development program from onboarding and orientation to skill training and personal development.
- Develop, manage, and ensure the salary administration program for hourly and for salary personnel of the credit union, which safeguards competitive positioning as compared to external labor markets, salaries, incentive compensation, and bonuses.
- Ensure compliance with salary administration procedures for the periodic appraisal of team member performances, and coordinate all appraisal activities to ensure that all team members are assessed with the maximum possible objectivity.
- Coordinate an annual maintenance review of descriptions for positions to ensure that all team members have up-to-date, meaningful descriptions.
- Oversee total compensation programs including payroll processing, benefits, 401K reporting and administration, promotion and merit increases, paid vacation and sick leave, tuition reimbursement, wellness program, and other programs affecting team member wages, perks and benefits.
- Coordinate with the EVP, VP Finance and appropriate leadership to develop an annual budget for the credit union. The HR budget includes, but is not limited to, agency support; 401(k); and screening and hiring; wages, taxes, bonus or incentive programs; benefits and advertisements; consultants and HR audits.
- Manage HRIS to ensure accuracy in all team member data within in the system and all reporting data requested. Continually spearhead the digitalization and streamlining of HR and Payroll process leveraging HRIS and other information systems.
- Develop, utilize and maintain HR data dashboard to provide insights to leadership and utilize qualified data in decision making.
- Oversee and develop People Experience All Team Communications and Updates
- Assist in establishing and in implementing long term programs in the areas of workforce and of organizational planning to facilitate both growth and operation capacity of the credit union.
- Coach or counsel leaders to improve their supervisory or performance management skill sets.
- Demonstrate leadership behavior in all settings that involve team members of the credit union. Set the tone for professional, managerial workplace behavior.
- Advise and coach team leaders and team members on issues concerning team member relations that may include conflict resolution, performance management and compensation conversations. Counsel team members on all grievances and complaints, and take appropriate steps to ensure they are resolved or channeled to appropriate leadership, as necessary.
- Manages the process of all governmental reporting such as affirmative action, EEO-1 and others as required
- Research, formulate, implement, and maintain an effective employment manual, which incorporates team member and leadership direction. Work with legal counsel to ensure that Excite’s policies for the employment manual protect the credit union and its team members. Ensure that all personnel has read and signed the statement of receipt for the team member handbook.
- Maintain knowledge of responsibilities of the credit union, under the Affirmative Action Program, Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Employment Opportunity Act, Workers Compensation Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA), and other government statutes and programs affecting personnel, administration, health, and safety of team members. Ensure compliance to applicable personnel management rules and regulations, and maintain awareness of new legislation or of any legislation changes related to employment.
- Develop, implement, and adhere to Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) policies and to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations
- Administer the 401(k) plan; demonstrate a complete knowledge of the eligibility requirements of the plan and its hardship rules; or other plan requirements; access the stability of the 401(k) provider, which includes periodic 401(k) plan audits; maintaining a relationship with a third party administrator; and periodic provider review.
- Assume responsibility for administration and for legal compliance for all Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) eligible team members or dependents.
- Monitor leave administration and workers compensation claims.
- Maintain the highest standard of confidentiality, and remain independent in acts and in appearances.
- Stay up-to-date of current best practices with personnel management; employment legislation; personnel forms and procedures.
- Manage the assistance, performance and professional development of human resources.
Requirements:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum six years of experience operating as a Human Resources Generalist, which includes experience with compensation, benefits, employment, and compliance
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Working Knowledge of Paylocity
- HR certification from HRCI, SHRM or other accredited organization.
- Five (5) or more years of progressive Human Resources management experience.
- Credit Union and/or similar not for profit experience.
