POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Residential Services (DRS) is a senior leadership team member and acts on behalf of the administration team as the AOC as needed. Oversees the programmatic structure of the residential unit, ensuring all patients are actively engaged in therapeutic groups and daily tasks. The Director is responsible for maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. The DRS works with the Staff Educator to address staff trainings needs for all residential staff. The DRS coordinates the therapeutic incentive program with Nursing staff to ensure an individualized, therapeutic incentive program for each patient. The DRS works closely with both the DON and DCS. The DRS reports directly to the DCS.

May perform other duties as assigned by the DCS including coordination and oversight of the Group Specialists.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Must havebachelors’ degree in social work, counseling or related field or nursing from an accredited educational institution. Masters degree is preferred.

Experience: Psychiatric experience in providing treatment to adolescents is required. Previous supervisory experience is highly preferred.

Licensure: Preferred licensed social worker or registered nurse.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CRP Certification, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and First Aid. Must possess effective communication skills and have the ability to maintain professionalism in dealing with residents, families, physicians, treatment team members, and referral sources. Must have good command of the English language and good writing skills. The individual must be organized, motivated and possess good management skills.
