POSITION: Director, Small Business Development Center

Description of Duties: The core responsibilities of the Director are to lead the counseling, planning, and operations of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and develop/oversee the Rose State College Aerospace and Cybersecurity Business Incubator. This includes providing small business management counseling and technical services, traveling throughout the assigned area of Oklahoma to conduct activities that increase awareness of the SBDC, and developing partnerships with other economic development and business service organizations. The Director will be responsible for developing their own diverse client portfolio. The director will demonstrate knowledge of accounting processes and financial statements. The director will be responsible for developing their own network of lenders and funding partners to assist small business clients with business capitalization. Work, functions, and duties are to be consistent with the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center Network Service Center Agreement. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program needs, satisfactory work performance, and availability of funding.

Minimum Qualifications: Management or supervisory experience. Bachelor's degree in Business or related discipline. Knowledge of the principles and requirements of starting and operating a successful small business in Oklahoma. Experience in developing, maintaining, and adhering to a budget. Experience with commercial lending. Experience in and understanding of the requirements and processes related to venture capital, government procurement, contracting, and the necessary registrations or certifications and the ability to provide technical assistance. Excellent oral/written/nonverbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel), personal computing, and the internet. Ability to provide exceptional customer service and work to ensure client satisfaction. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality policies. Ability to present to groups of clients and stakeholders. Attention to detail. Professional appearance and interpersonal demeanor. Must have valid driver's license. Light lifting up to 20 lbs and light carrying up to 20 lbs required. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping.

Desired Qualifications: 2 years of prior experience as a SBDC advisor. Master's Degree in Business Management or other closely related discipline. Five or more years business ownership or management experience to include management, payroll, accounting, and marketing. Knowledge of the business counseling and consulting process.
