Fineco Asset Management DAC (‘FAM’) is the Dublin based asset management subsidiary of FinecoBank S.p.A. (“FinecoBank”). FAM, which started its operations in May 2018, is authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland as a UCITS Management Company and it currently has approximately €25 bn in assets under management. FAM is a competence centre specialised in the management of fund-of-funds and single strategy funds (both managed internally and also externally buy 19 of the world’s most renowned investment managers). In addition to portfolio management activities, all key supporting and controlling functions, such as Compliance, Risk, Finance and Legal, are also performed locally. FAM started with 5 employees and has grown rapidly over the past 3 years with a headcount currently sitting at 50 FTEs and growing quickly (half of our headcount was hired during the pandemic period).


The Role

Reporting to the Head of Fund Solutions within the Investment Team, you will join an analytical, curious, and collaborative team. The due diligence analyst will be the primary person responsible for coordinating and conducting due diligence on both existing and new funds. Ideally looking for a self-starter, who enjoys building positive working relationships and someone looking to make a difference in a busy but flexible and supportive working environment. We are currently looking into the option of implementing a long-term hybrid working style, with the potential to work from home for a percentage of the time. Key tasks include the below:

  • Coordinate and complete annual investment due diligence on our existing suite of externally managed mandates (and operational due diligence every three years).
  • Access and complete due diligence for new investments and new fund launches.
  • Collaborate with other member of the investment team and liaise with external fund managers in order to complete due diligence tasks.
  • Provide input to fund selection activities and the evaluation of managers held across the fund of funds
  • Help with monthly reporting tasks when required, positioning, performance etc
  • Work with other teams to help with the collation and preparation of documentation for fund launches, investment committees and board meetings
  • Stay up to date with all industry and regulatory developments to ensure the process adapts over time and remains relevant (recent developments in ESG regulation an example)

Profile/Skills:


  • 3 years+ experience in a due diligence role (preferably with an investment manager)
  • Knowledge and expertise in evaluating and making sound judgements about the quality of investment managers, their processes and fund’s.
  • Passionate and curious about financial markets, investments and due diligence
  • A self-starter who is able to take initiative, hit the ground running and operate successfully on an independent basis.
  • Comfortable interacting with new people, building relationships and working within a team
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and a basic knowledge of Morningstar is a plus
  • Educated to university level and CFA desirable but not a requirement
