Job Summary:

You will be responsible for collaborating with the team to organize and create print and online content for Professional Tool & Equipment News, Professional Distributor, and VehicleServicePros.com. To assist with content creation and organization for print and digital platforms, along with print production, organizing content for e-newsletters, managing social media accounts, curating content for the website, and managing print supplement projects.



Responsibilities:

Writing/posting vendor products and industry PR news releases, help in managing newsletter deployments, copy editing and proofing features for both online and print, social media management, and attending industry trade shows.


  • Rewrite press releases for product & industry news posts for posting on VehicleServicePros.com.
  • Researching new feature stories and providing monthly bylines.
  • Proofread and edit feature copy & other content for print and online.
  • Populate, test, and deploy e-newsletters.
  • Pitching and developing original stories and content.
  • Create daily social media content while managing all platforms.
  • Attend industry trade shows and create content (article, video, photo gallery) based on the event.
  • Edit, organize and manage editorial content for print and digital platforms in content management system.
  • Write feature articles and columns on industry-related topics (includes finding sources, creating interview questions, conducting interviews).
  • Provide input, proof, and assist with approval process for print and website content, as well as participation in editorial planning meetings, administrative tasks, returning correspondence, and organizing content.
  • Create and organize newsletter content.
  • Edit layout pages and provide assistance with print production process.
  • Organize and write verbiage and content to feature on social media platforms.


Core Competencies:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong writing/editing skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects under tight time constraints. The candidate will be digitally savvy, with a strong understanding of social media best practices. Knowledge of the automotive repair industry is a plus, but not required. Must be a team player and a strong communicator.

Knowledge / Skill / Ability

  • Strong copy editing/proofreading skills. Knowledge of AP style and adaptable to internal style, with a firm understanding of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Proficiency with computers required. Experience with InCopy, Word Office Suite, and Google Drive preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Solid time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and management - Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok

Equivalent Education / Experience

  • Knowledge/enthusiasm/previous reporting experience on the automotive repair industry ideal, but not required.
  • Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or applicable field.
  • 1 to 2 years applicable experience preferred, but not required.
