Job Description

In this leadership role, you will manage multiple projects valued in the $500k to $5M range. You will coordinate a mix of engineering development and small-scale production activities in the area of custom products. Your main tasks will be as the point-of-contact for customers and the leader of day-to-day activities of small (1-10 person), multi-disciplinary project teams, including both junior and senior level engineers.

You will take projects through the entire life cycle from project conception and proposal through design and production utilizing existing process methodologies. You will be responsible for coordinating with both internal and external groups to meet the cost, schedule and technical goals of the program while managing risk and motivating the team. Due to the technical nature of this work, the ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in wireless communication technologies.

You will be leading all facets of leading edge projects designed for minimal size, weight and power (SWaP) that involve software, FPGA, RF waveform, RF hardware, baseband hardware and mechanical engineering. You will utilize your high-level knowledge of multi-disciplinary design principles to ensure the projects are completed successfully within cost and schedule while meeting all technical requirements. As the project manager , you will have ultimate technical decision-making control during the development cycle. The ability to analyze and evaluate technical trade-offs, while also considering the impacts to cost and schedule, is essential.

In addition to project tasks, you will be expected to contribute to the growth of the organization via interaction with senior management, peers and subordinates. This will include managing and completing performance reviews for project team members. As a leader in a growing department you will also be expected to participate in department growth and process improvement activities.

You will lead your project teams via daily interactions, weekly meetings, and monthly customer reviews. You must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in project management is preferred. Occasional domestic travel is required.

Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract. Some contracts may have higher-level clearance requirements

Bachelors (BS) degree in engineering

7+ years of engineering experience
