Enhanced Support Staff, evenings and weekends
Job description
We are seeking dynamic Enhanced Support Staff Professionals with behavioral experience to join our team and provide direct care to a young man with autism. We currently have two part-time positions available, including weekday evenings and weekend hours, with every other weekend off.
As an active and hands-on team member, your experience as a TSS or PCA is highly valued, and experience following a Positive Behavior Plan is necessary. We require someone who is engaged and engaging, with attentiveness to the client being a top priority. This position requires no phone use while at work, and RBT certification is helpful, while Positive Behavior Plan experience is required.
You will work with this young man in his home and be part of his team, helping him with Speech and Occupational therapy homework, Activities of Daily Living, personal hygiene, and monitoring his meals. He loves playing Wii, puzzles, and being with people who genuinely are interested in him and his needs and interests.
In this role, providing structure and consistency to the client's day is key. As he will have already spent the day with staff, you will work on helping him follow his schedule, engaging in activities, monitoring his meals to help him eat slower, and assisting him with unwinding from the day.
Our ideal candidate is calm, patient, willing to learn new skills, and has experience following a Positive Behavior Plan. To qualify, you must be at least 18 years of age, reliable, responsible, pass a drug test, and the PA Background Check process. You must have a valid driver’s license and have access to dependable transportation. Having your RBT certification, NADD certification, or a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, or Gerontology is essential, with specialized degrees also acceptable to meet qualification standards.
We need a candidate who has experience implementing a positive behavior plan, has a minimum of two years of experience working with individuals who have autism, is an energetic, creative problem solver, has a great sense of humor, a calm demeanor, is attentive and engaging.
