Job description
Route 53 Tavern in Pembroke is looking for an individual that has the passion to prepare and cook quality fresh "from scratch" food. Basic food handling skills are preferred. The initial position would be a cooks position. The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to learn all the stations in the kitchen, pizza, pantry, fry, grill, ovens and saute. The Route 53 Tavern is proud to have a culinary team that can share their knowledge and experience. All our chefs and sous chefs started their culinary careers as line cooks at Route 53 Tavern or at The Fairview Inn. The starting pay is $18-$22 an hour. Pay increases are based solely on job performance, and contributions. Many of our cooks are earning over $30 an hour. Chefs and Sous Chefs are paid salary plus their pay includes health insurance and supplemental insurance programs. Culinary school is not the only way to build a culinary career in the restaurant industry.
