The EHS Professional position will work closely with the SHEQ Manager and their team in maintaining Environmental and Safety Compliance of the Epiroc Garland PC facility, the Allen DC facility and the MRS facility. The incumbent will also work on Environmental and Safety projects such as sustainability projects to reduce waste, CO2 emissions, energy reduction, recycling initiatives, LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work and other related projects/programs as needed. They will also assist with or conduct reporting as required.
Principal responsibilities:
Manages environmental investigations and remediation projects.- Collects & Readies environmental samples, including air, water, soil, and wastes, to be sent to the lab for analysis.
- Maintains environmental records required by SWPPP, SPCC, Hazardous & Industrial Waste, Universal Waste, Air Permit, & P2 Plan.
- Identifies and ensures compliance with safety and health standards for employees at branch locations and large heavy-industry work sites.
- Follows Corporate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations at Company facilities and work sites.
- Conducts regular and random safety inspections of work sites and facilities in order to assess operations, compliance, and to detect existing, or potential accident, fire, or health hazards.
- Conduct inspections for Environmental plans as required.
- Recommends corrective or preventative action(s) and prepares evaluation, i.e. audit, report(s) for Corporate office review.
- Reviews injury/accident reports for causal factors and identifies follow up or corrective action(s) to prevent recurrence. Must be able to develop site-specific Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Assist with data collection and Environmental Reporting, Tier II, Tri Form R, AEI, Annual Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste Summary, P2 Report and Water Use Survey.
- Assist or lead Epiroc Programs in Waste Reduction, Recycling, SWPPP Compliance, SPCC Compliance and Air Permit Compliance.
- Assist or lead Epiroc Sustainability programs such as, Energy Reduction, CO2 Reduction, Water Use Reduction and any other programs as required.
- Maintains records and report on sustainability goals
- Assist or manage Oil/Water separator cleanouts and inspections
- Schedule and assist with Haz, Non-Haz Waste, Universal waste and Used Oil shipments
- Assist with the modifications and upkeep of safety or occupational health program elements including fall protection, electrical safety, confined space, hazardous materials, lockout/tagout, fire protection and other OSHA safety compliance programs.
- Analyzes jobs, processes, products, or other systems to determine the risks to employees.
- Acts as subject matter expert in identifying and evaluating Personal Protective Equipment needs
- Develops new occupational safety and health programs, policies, procedures, technical reports, briefing papers and approaches to address new compliance and certification issues, taking in consideration, Federal laws, regulations and industry standards.
- Work closely with production team to implement new policies and procedures.
- Conducts routine and follow up environmental health, safety and hazards inspections of the Epiroc facilities
- Conducts regular safety meetings with management and employees.
- Implements safety policies, procedures, and written communications.
- Assist production as needed to ensure monthly safety audits are being completed and recorded.
- Conduct and analyze accident and incident reports looking for trends, provide recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
- Assist or Lead Environmental & Safety trainings as required
- Uses various data systems to keep detailed records.
- Complies with all federal and local laws and regulations.
- Maintains a safe work environment.
- Maintain professional development through training,
- Creates internal and external documents and presentations.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

- The person should be able to lead people or willing to develp that skill.
Education and experience:
- Knowledge of Federal, state and local Safety and Environmental regulations.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Problem solving Skills.
- Mathematic skills and be detailed oriented.
- Well versed in Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Team leader for projects. Worked in a manufacturing environment.
- Formal Education Requirement: BS in an Environmental or Engineering Field
- Preference is 3-4 Years of Experience
Required physical effort
- May be required to lift up to 40 pounds
