Job Title: Construction Accountant – Job Costing Specialist
PCF is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Accountant with a specialization in job costing. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and a strong background in accounting principles and practices with motivation to keep pace, evolve, and advance with a fast-moving, growing, dynamic group of companies.
Primary responsibilities:
- Job costing – Support the job costing process. Assist with costing construction projects across 5 different business lines (and different companies) and several types of projects. Conduct audits of completed construction projects to ensure accuracy and appropriate breakdown of costs. Carry over summaries of completed audits to management/production presentations (PowerPoint slides).
- Other financial process support – Review receipts, time-clock hours, financial statements, invoices, transactions, and other accounting documents to ensure completeness and accuracy of information and application to the appropriate job for costing. Support other related accounting responsibilities such as accounts receivable/payable, payment collections from customers, bank reconciliations, creating/releasing invoices to customers
- Cross-functional collaboration – Coordinate with sales and production teams and work within our CRM + project management system (BuilderTrend) to open jobs, audit jobs, and verify completeness and accuracy of data. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely completion of financial reporting requirements.
- Continuous process improvement – Identify areas for improvement in finance and accounting processes and make recommendations to management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field + financial certifications (such as CMA or CPA) strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting, job costing, and associated financial concepts
- 3+ years’ experience in construction accounting or financial auditing
- Data/numbers inclined with a keen eye for detail
- Experience with or basic understanding of intercompany accounting (we are 9 separate legal entities, each with separate sets of books)
- Knowledge of construction industry regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficient in Quickbooks Online Advanced, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Microsoft office suite (primarily Word and PowerPoint). Experience with BuilderTrend a major plus!
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter; Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Can-do attitude and internal motivation to tackle challenges and adapt to change
- Motivated by growth and continuous process improvement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
