Job description
The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill a Facility Operations Assistant 1 position. Under the direction of a Food Service Worker 3, the Facility Operations Assisntat 1 will perform the in-house tasks of unloading trucks, storing food items, pulling product from refrigerators and freezers.
DUTIES DESCRIPTION:
Specific duties to be performed may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Operate material handling equipment such as fork lifts and motorized pallet jacks throughout the day.
- Load and unload food supplies from trucks by physically lifting items or operating a motorized pallet jack or forklift.
- Move heavy food items to and from refrigerator and freezer storerooms.
- Assist truck drivers in picking up and delivering food items and other supplies.
- Assist in the receiving and shipping of various food items and other supplies.
- Sweep, rake, shovel, mow, and remove debris, leaves, branches, snow, ice, trash, etc. from Cook Chill premises as needed.
- Provide assistance to Cook Chill maintenance staff with routine activities as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This is a labor class position. There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.
When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
SCHEDULE: Workweek: Schedule Monday - Friday; 40 hours per week; 7AM - 3:30PM
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Based on federal and/or state regulations, this position requires vaccination against COVID-19. Upon appointment, the selected candidate must be fully vaccinated, or willing to become fully vaccinated, against COVID-19 and will be required to provide proof of vaccination. Candidates who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of interview may not start working until two weeks after their final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
