Job description

The Farm Operations Technician is a full-time benefited position and will assist in the raising of corn, soybeans, hard red spring wheat and sunflowers on a family-owned farm near East Grand Forks, MN. The technician has the responsibility, with a team, to operate various pieces of farm equipment including but not limited to seeding equipment, application equipment including a sprayer and fertilizer spreader, combine, tillage equipment and semi-tractors. This is all to assist in raising a productive and profitable crop. This person will need to be knowledgeable in and be able to utilize various types of ag related technology. Various other job duties may be assigned and asked to be completed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ability to operate various farm equipment including but not limited to seeding equipment, fertilizer spreader, sprayer, combine, semi-tractor, tillage, and other pieces of farm equipment

· Ability to regularly perform maintenance on the farm at regular service intervals

· Assist in repairing and maintaining farm equipment and general buildings

· Ability to operate and utilize precision agriculture apps and programs (like John Deere Operations Center)

· All other duties assigned

REQUIREMENTS

· Be a team player with a positive attitude and trustworthiness

· Good communicator

· Knowledge of safe workplace practices

· Prior experience operating farm equipment

· A willing attitude and desire to learn new skills

· Ability to troubleshoot problems and plan solutions

· A valid driver’s license, no CDL is required, but preferred
